A petrol mower has fast-moving blades, hot surfaces, fuel and carbon-monoxide risks. Read the supplied manuals before use and follow every warning on the mower and engine.
- Protect the operator
- Wear eye and hearing protection, long trousers and sturdy closed footwear.
- Clear the mowing area
- Keep people and pets away, then remove stones, wire, toys and branches before starting.
- Use petrol safely
- Operate outdoors only. Refuel only after the engine is switched off and completely cool.
- Stop before touching
- Wait for every blade to stop and disconnect the spark-plug lead before deck or blade work.
- Complete pre-use checks
- Check oil, blades, fasteners, catcher, guards and controls before every mowing session.
- Clean and maintain
- Clean only after shutdown and follow the supplied oil, air-filter and spark-plug schedule.
