The one-year GroundGO express warranty for the GroundGO M1 and GroundGO M1 Pro, the claim process and the separate rights available under New Zealand consumer law.
1. Warranty provider and models
GroundGO provides and administers this express warranty for the GroundGO M1 and GroundGO M1 Pro. GroundGO is the customer’s warranty contact. Neither mower is presented as carrying a separate Honda New Zealand retail warranty.
- GroundGO M1: genuine Honda GCV145 engine
- GroundGO M1 Pro: genuine Honda GCVx200 engine
- Assessment or repair may be performed by a third-party centre appointed by GroundGO
- Do not assume an independent dealer is authorised until GroundGO confirms it
2. Express-warranty period
The express-warranty period is one year from the original delivery date, subject to the terms below. Keep the tax invoice or other proof of purchase and the product model and serial details.
- Replacement or repair does not reduce rights that apply under the Consumer Guarantees Act
- The one-year period describes the express warranty, not the maximum possible life of statutory consumer guarantees
- A different written commercial-use term applies only if GroundGO expressly agrees it
3. What the express warranty covers
Subject to assessment, the express warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship affecting the mower as supplied during normal domestic use, correct operation and required maintenance.
- Engine and engine-installation defects attributable to manufacture
- Deck, handle, control, catcher and discharge-component manufacturing defects
- Self-propelled drive components on the M1 Pro where the defect is not wear, misuse or poor maintenance
- GroundGO M1 components applicable to its hand-push configuration
4. What the express warranty does not cover
The express warranty does not cover maintenance, consumables, ordinary wear or damage caused by events other than an eligible defect. These exclusions do not remove a remedy required by New Zealand law.
- Blades, blade adaptors, belts, cables, filters, spark plugs, lubricants, fuel and other service items
- Normal bluntness, adjustment, cosmetic wear, paint chips, surface corrosion or catcher wear
- Stone, stump, wire, impact or foreign-object damage
- Misuse, overloading, racing, hire, rental, unauthorised commercial use or use contrary to instructions
- Unauthorised modification, non-approved parts or repair not authorised by GroundGO
- Stale or contaminated fuel, wrong fuel, wrong oil, insufficient oil, overheating or neglected maintenance
- Damage caused after delivery by accident, fire, flood, salt exposure, pests, storage or transport not arranged by GroundGO
5. Maintenance responsibilities
The owner must carry out the pre-use checks and scheduled maintenance in the supplied mower and engine documentation. Keep reasonable service records where a claim may depend on maintenance.
- Check oil before use and change it at the required interval
- Maintain air filter and spark plug
- Keep fasteners, controls, guards, catcher and blades in serviceable condition
- Use fresh specified petrol and store fuel safely
- Stop using the mower if abnormal noise, vibration, smoke, leakage or loss of control occurs
6. Safety and preserving the fault
Stop the engine and discontinue use if the mower may be unsafe or continued operation could worsen the damage. Do not dismantle the engine, bypass safety controls or continue mowing to test a serious fault.
- Photograph or record the symptom only where safe
- Do not place hands beneath the deck
- Disconnect the spark-plug lead before any permitted inspection near moving parts
- Follow GroundGO’s fuel and transport directions
7. How to make a claim
Contact GroundGO through the Contact page as soon as reasonably possible with the order number, model, serial number, purchase date, usage, maintenance information and a clear description of the problem.
- Provide photos or video where safe and relevant
- Allow GroundGO a reasonable opportunity to diagnose or inspect
- Do not arrange a paid repair before written authorisation
- GroundGO will advise whether remote checks, freight, local assessment or another step is required
8. Assessment and service centres
GroundGO may appoint an independent third-party repair company to assess or complete work on GroundGO’s behalf. The centre does not become the warranty provider merely because it performs the repair.
- GroundGO remains the warranty contact
- The customer should present the claim reference and proof of purchase
- An authorised centre may inspect maintenance, fuel, impact and wear evidence
- Confirmed centre names will be added to the searchable directory as appointments are finalised
9. Freight and inspection costs
GroundGO will handle reasonable inspection and transport costs as required by the Consumer Guarantees Act for a valid consumer claim. If assessment shows only maintenance, misuse or another excluded cause, GroundGO may quote reasonable diagnostic, repair or freight costs before chargeable work proceeds.
10. Express-warranty remedies
For an eligible express-warranty defect, GroundGO may repair the mower, replace the defective component or replace the mower with the same or an equivalent model. The remedy will be provided within a reasonable time and without charge where required.
- Availability may affect whether a component or equivalent replacement is used
- Removed defective parts may be retained by GroundGO where lawful
- Data or accessories not required for the repair should be removed or identified before transport
11. Consumer Guarantees Act
This express warranty is additional to the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. For consumer purchases, goods must meet guarantees including acceptable quality, fitness for purpose and correspondence with description. Depending on the failure, the Act may provide repair, replacement, refund, rejection and compensation rights. Those rights are not limited to one year merely because the express warranty is one year.
12. Business use
If the mower is acquired for business purposes, any agreement to contract out of the Consumer Guarantees Act must satisfy New Zealand’s written, in-trade and fair-and-reasonable requirements. Domestic express-warranty wording does not automatically create a commercial or hire warranty.
13. No unauthorised representation
No contractor, freight carrier or repair centre may promise a warranty outcome on GroundGO’s behalf unless authorised. GroundGO will not decline a valid statutory claim merely because an unauthorised person made an unrelated statement.
14. Find a service centre
GroundGO’s service-centre finder accepts a New Zealand region and provides the current support route. Confirmed centre names will be added only after GroundGO has finalised those appointments; until then, GroundGO will coordinate the nearest available assessment option.
